Taiwanese company Chroma ATE, Inc. has begun full-scale operations in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture. Chroma ATE is listed on the Taiwanese stock exchange, and manufactures and sells electronics testers, automated measuring systems, and manufacturing execution systems. The company has a 27% share of the world market for LCD module lighting testers, and a 35% share for TV signal generators.
Chroma ATE increased its capitalization of its Japanese subsidiary Chroma Japan Corporation to get operations up to full speed, and established its base in Yokohama, which boasts a clustering of semiconductor and electronics companies. Chroma ATE plans on actively growing its Japanese business, including expanding its workforce and possibly engaging in M&A.
To set up its Japan arm, CHROMA made use of JETRO's Invest Japan Business Support Center (IBSC) in Kanagawa, consultation with company registration, introductions to tax accountants and certified social insurance labor consultants, as well as information on regional government subsidies and introduction of employees.
