Chroma ATE acquired the ultra high stability power supply contract from the NSRRC in Taiwan
2010/05/24

Chroma ATE, the leader of Test & Measurement instruments manufacturer, has acquired an ultra high stability power supply contract with the amount of multi-millions USD from the National Synchrotron Radiation Research Center (NSRRC) for the project of Taiwan Photon Source in Taiwan. Chroma will provide ultra high stability solution to the power supplies utilized in the extremely bright light source within the next two years.

Taiwan Light Source (TLS) is the first third-generation synchrotron light source in Asia, which has been running for 17 years. The beam time of TLS is over-subscribed and primarily utilized in the basic and applied scientific researches, which includes the fields of material, biochemistry, energy, electronics, micromachine and nano devices. In order to cope with the increasing demand for brighter and higher photon energy for top-notch research, NSRRC is building a low-emittance accelerator with beam energy of 3 GeV circumference in 518.4 meters, which is expect to open to users in 2014.

The power supply offered by Chroma is 250 A/30 V that has the most advanced ultra-high stability, 10 ppm (current stability ±1.25 mA). Each module also equips with high resolution output current control, high efficiency and high power factor to comply with the energy saving regulations and the most updated remote control technology to monitor the system’s performance. The power supplies will assist the NSRRC to build one of the brightest synchrotron light source in the world to attain international competence, and assist the high-tech industry in improving its research and development capability, while it creates Taiwan's scientific research marvels in the twenty-first century.

Chroma ATE is a solution provider of Test & Measurement Instruments, Automated Test Systems and Manufacturing Execution Systems founded in 1984.
